About St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church, Calgary
St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church is a parish of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church — one of the oldest Christian churches in the world, founded by St. Thomas the Apostle who brought the Gospel to India in 52 AD.
We are a growing community of faith in Calgary, Alberta, united by the ancient liturgical tradition of the Orthodox Church. Our services are held in Malayalam and English, and all are warmly welcome.
Our New Church
By God’s grace, our parish has been blessed with its own church building in Calgary, consecrated on May 29–30, 2026. This is a milestone in the life of our community and a testament to the faithfulness of our congregation.
Our Mission
To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to nurture our congregation in the Orthodox faith, and to serve the wider Calgary community with love, compassion, and the hope of Christ.
